How do Monerica sponsorships work?

Monerica offers three sponsorship types: Main Sponsor, Category Sponsor, and Subcategory Sponsor. Sponsorship increases visibility across Monerica (homepage placement + directory visibility), and includes distribution via RSS + weekly newsletter.

Sponsorship is first-come, first-serve. Current sponsors can renew before expiry to keep their placement. See details and rules on the Sponsorship page.

Eligibility (summary): Your listing must be Verified or have been listed in the directory for at least 180 days. Listings cannot be Questionable or Scam. Full requirements are listed below.

What are the sponsorship requirements and rules?

Sponsorship is reserved for services that have demonstrated reliability over time. Monerica sponsors are expected to be stable, responsive, and safe for users. Sponsorship is a paid placement, but it comes with strict requirements.

Minimum eligibility:

  • Verified (green checkmark) OR listed in the directory for at least 180 days.
  • Must be Admitted or Verified — sponsorship is not allowed for Questionable or Scam listings.
  • Must continue to accept Monero as represented on the listing.

Reliability and safety expectations:

  • Sponsors are expected to provide reliable service and not engage in deceptive practices (bait-and-switch, hidden fees, false claims, etc.).
  • If a sponsored listing stops accepting Monero or materially changes how it operates in a way that conflicts with the listing, it may be suspended or removed.

Immediate removal policy (no refund):

  • Any credible report of theft, fund loss due to the sponsor, or confirmed scam activity will result in immediate removal of the sponsorship without a refund.
  • If there is reasonable suspicion that a sponsor is connected to (or operating alongside) another exchange/service that has been involved in theft, or is connected to other questionable listings, the sponsor may be removed without notice and without a refund.
  • Monerica may remove sponsors to protect users and the integrity of the directory, including cases where risk is elevated even before a full public incident report exists.

These rules exist to protect users and the broader Monero ecosystem. If you want to sponsor and you’re not yet eligible, keep your listing active, reliable, and (ideally) get Verified.

For the live rules and availability, see the Sponsorship page.

What sponsor slots are available right now?

Availability changes frequently. The live, up-to-date availability (including waitlists and “notify me” links) is always shown here: Sponsorship.

Example (Exchanges): If you’re looking for a Main Sponsor or Category placement under Exchanges, check the live page above. As of the current listing status shown on that page:

  • Main Sponsor: can be full (max 5 at a time) and may show a “next availability” timestamp with a waitlist option.
  • Category Sponsor (Exchanges): can be unavailable while an active sponsor runs, and the page will display the expiration date/time and a notify link.
  • Subcategory Sponsor (Exchanges → Instant Swaps): can also be unavailable and will show its own expiration and waitlist option.

If a slot is unavailable, use the “Notify me of openings” / waitlist link shown next to that slot on the Sponsorship page.

What does sponsorship cost?

Current market rates (USD + XMR equivalents) are always listed here: Sponsorship Offers. Rates can change based on demand, and some subcategories have overrides.

Typical durations: 30, 60, 90, or 180 days.

Important note: The Offers page also shows whether a specific offer is “Buy” (available) or “Join Waitlist” (currently taken).

How do we start a sponsored listing (next steps)?

  1. Make sure your listing exists in the Monerica directory. Not listed yet? Submit it here: submission page.
  2. Confirm eligibility: listing must be Verified OR 180+ days old, and must be Admitted or Verified.
  3. Check availability (and join waitlists if needed): Sponsorship.
  4. Review pricing for your desired placement and duration: Sponsorship Offers.
  5. Buy sponsorship: choose type (Main / Category / Subcategory), pick your directory listing, select duration, and pay with Monero (XMR). Your sponsored listing activates automatically once payment confirms.

If you’re an exchange asking about “Main” or “Category under Exchanges” (example inquiry): check the Sponsorship page for the Exchanges category status and use the notify/waitlist link if it’s taken. If Main Sponsor is full, you can still sponsor a different category or a subcategory where available.

How do I renew or extend my sponsored listing?

Visit the active sponsored listings page and extend your listing without losing placement.

Are sponsorships endorsements?

No. Sponsored listings are paid placements and not endorsements.

What is Monerica?

Monerica is a Monero (XMR)–only directory focused on building a real Monero circular economy.

Every listing either directly accepts Monero or meaningfully supports its use.

How do I get verified / a green checkmark?

A green checkmark means the service has been confirmed to accept Monero in a real transaction.

  • Verified directly by Monerica, or
  • Proven through a public transaction report

Submit proof via find existing listing.

What do the listing statuses mean?

Links are not endorsements. Some may be affiliate links. JavaScript and cookies not required.

  • Admitted
  • Verified
  • Questionable
  • Scam

Listings on Monerica are categorized to help users assess risk and reliability. These statuses are informational only and do not constitute endorsements.

  • Admitted — Added to the directory but not tested by the community
  • Verified — Tested by at least one member of the community
  • Questionable — Uncertainty around claims or service reliability, but no confirmed reports of theft
  • Scam — Credible evidence that the service has taken user funds without delivering the promised product or service
